L-R, the Macedonians have Cv, Pk, SpI and Art (Alex and Companions to the rear), Cv (LhS behind), AxS commanded by Philip and Ps (on the rough hill). Ch'in put a command on each gentle hill near their baseline: Art (with Bd behind), Bw, Bd and Pai Ch'i with his chariot Kn on his left, and Ax, Bw and Lh on his right.

The LhS gallop down the road, followed by Alex as he takes the companions around to get on to the flank of the Ch'in. The Pk, Sp and Ax advance. The Art stare at each other. The riposte? Diddly squat.

However, on the very first turn, dust is seen on the Macedonians left (near Alex). Unperturbed, Alex decides to press home his attack, leaving three companions to block the flank march, which proves to be quite significant.

The LhS fail to live up to their billing and go down to LhF, allowing Ch'in mounted to approach Alex from the flank. BwI shooting also disrupts the companions and Alex is starting to think he's in a bit of a pickle. In the centre, the Ch'in swivel a bolt shooter to try and slow the SpI, but this opens the door for the Macedonian Art to get lay down suppressing fire. Philip, meanwhile, chases away Pai Ch'i's Lh, but then gets a bit carried away.

Chinese actually ate millet mostly at this time. Rice didn't become popular until much later

Whatever the were cooking, the Pk and Sp were going to turn over all the pots and grab all the invaders booty.

The 338BC list was a bit of an experiment, taking Philip with AxS rather than PkS, and it is a good army. Bob had a bit of fortune with his flank march moving on second bound. However, I kick myself for not bring the LhS and companions straight back and soon as we saw dust. And for allowing the AxS to get too close to Pai Ch'i and his knights.
